We do offer three Types of matboards:

1. White Core - Standard 4 ply (1/16 inch) thickness in 50 colors
2. Conservation - Standard 4 ply thickness in 24 colors
3. Double Thick - Ultra Thick 8 ply (1/8 inch) thickness, ArtCare in 4 colors

When ordering Custom cut Mat Boards please note: Select the Exact size of the artwork you are matting. We will make the mat opening 1/8" to 1/4" smaller on each side to make sure the mat will cover the artwork. If you don't want a smaller opening size, ask for EXACT OPENING SIZE in order note box. Contact us by email and ask for a quote, if: you need larger than 40x32" mat sizes. you need multi opening custom mats. you need custom shapes or triple mat openings. After adding the item to the shopping cart, enter instructions and notes in order note box if needed.

Terms: Top Mat: Top layer of a double mat; It has a larger window, which allows a small border of the bottom mat, called the reveal, to be shown. Bottom Mat: Optional second layer of matboard used in double matting; The window opening of the bottom mat surrounds the artwork. Reveal: Width of the bottom mat, normally 1/4″, 3/8″ & 1/2″ Mat Outer Size: Also known as frame opening size, matches the plexi glass or backing size of the picture frame Artwork Size: The exact size of the artwork! Mat Opening Size: Size of the matboard window cut out
